Stung by a jellyfish

Went to the little village, Hopkins, again for some R and R (see Harry Potter pic below). Put on my "racing" suit, and was swimming in the ocean...a jellyfish went IN the suit and stung me!
I hopped out of the water yelling "ouch! OW! ouch! SHIT!" ripping my suit off...
The woman who owns the resort has been there ten years, and has only heard of 5 jellyfish stings, no one has ever had one go in their suit. of course.
I have huge red splotches all over stomach. Hard core!

For Auntie Mary

Where did you read the final story?!
This is in Hopkins, a tiny village on the Carribean Sea. It takes just about 2 hours to get there in the truck--I took a little holiday this summer to do some reading...I won't tell you how it ends!

Pictures of "The Lion Man Triathlon"

Look at our medals!--They have a drawing of Bob Marley and a lion and say "Jah Make Us Strong Like a Lion"

Go me--eew--look at di wata.
The BEST cheering squad EVER--it was so so hot out there!
Gettin pumped up before the race!

Yay Team!

Triathlon

We finished! We think we placed, but we left before the awards ceremony because we're always so used to losing...I did better in this swim race than I have ever done in any running race before. Just a few minutes behind the winners, and at least 30 minutes in front of the loser--1 mile in 40 minutes. The water was disgusting--I've been resting and ingesting as much vitamin C as possible--the bottom was this mucky sludge--yuck! No ma, we did NOT wear life jackets.

Having trouble loading pics..

At the hospital

At 3am--in this little bedpan is the moth that flew in my ear while we were camping in the bush--we had to go to the hospital to get it out!

Some Pictures

Here are some pictures of the deserted island we camped on for 2 nights back in June. We had a crazy storm! It's one of the "Snake Cayes" and was the site of a National Geographic film on rare snake species. We didn't see any snakes, but there were hundreds of hermit crabs.
